We did some line drawing activities during our Art 320 class today. We did three seprarate drawings using line. Each of my three drawings are on the page above. You can click on it to enlarge the images.
1. Blind Contour Drawing: We were asked to draw something that was sitting at the table while focussing on the object being drawn rather than on the paper we were drawing on. I chose to draw my thermos.
2. Memory Drawing: Our next task was to look at an object for thirty seconds then draw the object from memory. I drew my pencil case.
3. Contour with 3D: The final drawing that we did was a 3D contour drawing. In order to enhance the 3D effects we were instructed with a few pointers. Firstly, crosshatching can make an object look more three dimential, also shading, filling in space, and using curved lines can add to the effect. I attempted to draw a friend’s water bottle.
